Revolutionary Feminism: Theory and Practice
Building revolutionary feminist consciousness and practice is necessary for working class struggles today.
Patriarchy is the socially-constructed, naturalization of gendered inequality and oppression. Enforced and reinforced through economic, cultural, and political marginalisation, gender violence and femicide, militarism and war, and dispossession and repression, patriarchy threatens humanity in all aspects of life and in all regions of the world. In this way, it is fundamental to global capitalism and imperialism.
However, as we become aware of how patriarchy operates as a system, we begin to see that revolution is not only possible but necessary! History shows us that only revolutionary processes can lead to true liberation from patriarchy. History also shows us that women have always and continue to lead the revolutionary struggles of the international working class. As the named and unnamed have echoed throughout history and throughout the world: There can be no true revolution without the liberation of women!
